Homecoming 2008 - "Our Time is Now"

Well, the long, fun, stressful, and eventful week is over. For us, as teachers and coaches, Homecoming is a two-edged sword. It sure was fun, but I'm glad it's over.

P.S. We did win the Homecoming Game against Altamont. It was 23-8. GO TIGERS!

I'm sooooo thankful...

When upon life's billows you are tempest tossed,

I've kind of had a "poor me" weekend. It was lightened when I went to church and heard the previous words; they hit me like a ton of bricks. The Lord really has blessed with so much. I just want to list a few of the many blessings I am grateful for (in no particular order):

*family - including my husband and children, parents, sisters, brothers, in-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents - all the onced-removeds and pretty much everyone

*my home (which is getting bigger)

*my part-time job

*living in a small town

*the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

*good examples in my life

*running (and all exercise)

*food to eat

*my comfy bed

*good books to read

*AND LAST, BUT NOT LEAST, BLOGS! (and all my blogging friends - you really light up my day)

Once upon a time...

There was a little girl who desperately wanted a little sister. Every birthday cake and falling star received the same wish over and over. Finally, a month before her 8th birthday, her first sister finally came! Now she has FIVE, and they are some of her best friends and confidants! She'll never forget how excited she was when they all came to join her family, especially that first one, who came 20 years ago yesterday!

The Importance Of A Sister

A sister is someone who loves you from the heart,
No matter how much you argue you cannot be drawn apart.
She is a joy that cannot be taken away,
Once she enters your life, she is there to stay.

Her comforting words are worth much more than dimes.

When she is not around, your days are full of strife.
A sister is a blessing, who fills your heart with love,
She flies with you in life with the beauty of a dove.

A companion to whom you can express your feelings,
She doesn’t let you get bored at family dealings.

She always helps you with a smile and never frowns.

With a sister you cannot have a grudge,
She is as sweet as chocolate and as smooth as fudge.
Having a sister is not just a trend,
It is knowing you can always turn to her, your best friend.

Last but not least, this is a video of my girls singing the Jellyfish Song, which was taught to them by their Aunt Kiana and filmed by Aunt Kaitlin. I hope it works - it's so cute!

Windy Five, XC, and Kiley's B-Day

Our lives sure haven't slowed down. We sure have lots of fun, though!

We love our five-hole golf course; it's actually called "The Granite View Golf Course." However, we refer to it as "The Windy Five." And it sure was blowing last Labor Day when we went. I'm sure not very good, but Jeep golfed his best hole ever on the last hole (one under par!) We had lots of fun going with Kaitlin, Dad, Dalaki, and MahLee.

X-Country - this week
As usual, I have some siblings running X-country. As usual, they are coached by my dad, and as usual, they did great this week. Daezia improved and beat 6 people in the j.v. race, and Dalaki ran hard and got 2nd overall. It was also great to see my SUU siblings there, too.

Kiley's Birthday
My cousin Ryan's daughter, Kiley, had her birthday last weekend at Park Discovery. It was fun to see everyone, and the kids loved the park. Also, it was great to have all my siblings together, so we took advantage of the photo opp!

Temple and Visitors

After a L-O-N-G work week, it was nice to have a long weekend! We had fun and visitors all weekend long. The St. George Temple was awesome - like always. The kids had so much fun. Tay kept saying, "Pemple" and asking to see "Jesus Christ." As always, Kinley loved going to the "Little Temple" (Visitor's Center) while we went to the "Big Temple." Thanks to Kaitlin, Ashley, and Daezia for babysitting!
